IELTS - Test Format

IELTS contains four modules - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Listening and speaking tests are same for both academic and general training candidates. However, writing task 1 and reading tests differ for academic and general training candidates. You can take Computer Delievered IELTS Test or Pen and Paper based IELTS Test.

Academic General Training
Candidates wishing to pursue their undergraduation or postgraduation education. Candidates looking to migrate to an English-Speaking country such as Australia, UK, USA, Canada or New Zealand
Pen and Paper based IELTS - Test Format
Listening :

4 sections, 40 questions, 20 - 30 minutes, 10 minutes to transfer the answers to answer sheet.

Academic Reading :

3 sections, 40 items - 60 minutes

Or General Training Reading :

3 sections, 40 items - 60 minutes

Academic Writing :

2 Tasks - 60 minutes

Or General Training Writing :

2 Tasks - 60 minutes

Speaking :

11 to 14 minutes

Total Test Time :

2 hours 44 minutes[Speaking Test Time is Excluded]

Results Announcement :

13 days

Computer Delivered IELTS - Test Format
