A few places in the US have restrictions where young people are not permitted outdoors beyond a certain time at night except when elders accompany them. Some believe that movement restrictions for adolescents are not right. In my opinion, the young should be able to go out without restrictions and feel safe while doing so.

To maintain a peaceful environment, curfews are imposed to restrict movement at night. However, blocking the young from going out in the name of keeping them safe is disobeying their right to freedom. Undeniably, there are some risks associated with late night ventures outside, but such perils would not be solved by imposing a curfew. Instead, children should be educated of the possible dangers they could face, and they should be taught self-defense as part of their school curriculum. Furthermore, government should regulate crimes and implement strict punishments in case of any offense as these kinds of risks are not only limited to teenagers.

Additionally, there could be an emergency which demands a teenager to go out at late hours. For instance, a family member could fall sick hence requiring an adolescent son or daughter to run out to get medicines. Moreover, adults chaperoning the young could become a source of stress for them. It also leads to them being dependent on adults for most of the activities. Letting them out freely will develop a sense of responsibility as well as build the confidence to tackle any kind of condition.

In conclusion, I think that the government and people should come together to always keep a community safe for our younger generations allowing them to roam about freely as opposed to moderating their movement.
