Many claim that it is important to dissipate information as much as possible in scientific analysis, whereas others argue that some information might be too sensitive to be publicized. I think that information can be freely shared except in a few cases.
Sharing information freely gives rise to discoveries and keeps the world up to date with the latest news. To make progress in a certain area of research, circulating information between regions is necessary. For instance, when Ebola hit the world, research across the globe was conducted in order to produce a vaccine. Many scientists around the world collaborated, shared ideas and information to make the vaccine available to everyone. Similarly, technological companies and industries often work together to develop sustainable products that can be used to yield more produce, bring in a revolution in artificial intelligence and so on.
On the contrary, some people argue that confidential information, when shared publicly could pose as a potential threat. For example, information about military and naval bases of a country attracts the attention of terrorists to the country. If details of the locations and activities of such bases are available, an attack could be planned and executed which destroys the safety of the population. In addition, sharing personal information could lead to scams and fraudulent activities. Many use this kind of information to scam people and launder money.
To conclude communicating information freely should be done to achieve greater success in various fields. This not only benefits a nation but also the world. Suppressed information could lead to embezzlement of scientific funds. In my opinion, information should be published as long as it cannot be used as a threat.
