Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to convey my views regarding the plans to close ‘Recreation centre of Scranton’ due to financial reasons. The people in my community, including my family, visit the centre for many recreational activities. My parents use the jogging track laid around the community. My friends and I use the sports facilities like squash and swimming regularly.
Furthermore, the centre hosts events for the local people to socialize. The elderly loves the library and feel happy to maintain it. Children use the skating rink and play area in the centre frequently. The centre is vital to us as the aforementioned activities have steered our community together and created a sense of belonging.
Finally, closure of the centre will leave us disheartened and we will be destitute of a place to organize sociable events.
I sincerely request you to revise your plans and reassess the decision. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
