Describe a natural talent you want to improve like sports, music
  • What is it?

  • When did you discover?

  • How you want to improve it?

  • And explain how you feel about it

People tend to have unique talents that they improve by making them a habit or pursuing them to become a professional if they are passionate about them. I have a hobby of playing guitar and here, I would like to talk about it.

I have a profound interest in playing guitar and sometimes, I sing for my friends and family. I got my first guitar as a present for my 8th birthday from my father. Ever since, I have been fascinated with it and immediately started figuring out how to play it by watching online tutorials. Later, I participated in my school’s talent show to showcase my talent and got lauded for the way I played the guitar.

Subsequently, I performed at a few social gatherings as a kid but I couldn’t take it forward anymore as I got busy with my studies. I still do play guitar sometimes but I think I need to improve my skills further. There is a renowned institute where experts teach people tricks and tips and share in depth knowledge of playing musical instruments. I have thought about it and decided to join professional classes in my city where I can hone my skills and learn more from professional guitar players.

I’m glad I have a talent in something other than just academics and it would be great if I could become a professional. I feel elevated to finally sign up to a course and improve my skills. One day, I would love to perform for a huge crowd at a concert or a music show.

Part 3 Follow Up - Questions & Answers

1. Do you think artists with talents should focus on their talents?

Absolutely, I think that artists who feel passionate about their talents should focus on honing them. There are very few people who have a passion for art and if they are talented, then the world has received a gift. Because what is life without art; I completely support artists to take their talents seriously and make them their profession.

2. Is it possible for us to know the children who are 3 or 4 years old will become musicians or painters when they grow up?

I do not think we can predict what kids will grow up to be in the future at a young age of 3 or 4. People’s dreams and aims change or evolve as they grow old. At such a young age, kids tend to be curious about everything around them and show an interest in learning more about things. Some might grow in the things they take in while others might get attracted to some other potential goals; so, it’s quite difficult to say what they would become.

3. Do you think parents feel guilty for putting too much pressure on their children?

I believe parents do not realise how much pressure they induce on their child; so, they do not feel as much guilty. One of the reasons is that they think, in a way, they are preparing their kids for real world problems and adulthood which is true in some cases. However, they should notice how the kids are reacting and coping to be able to support them adequately.

4. Why do people like to watch talent shows?

The major reason that people love watching talent shows is the drama and entertainment that they provide. These shows have people coming from different places and showcasing their talents. It creates fun and also people become curious to know who scored best and who won the show. This curiosity along with some fictional drama keeps people glued to the shows.
