Describe a person you only met once and want to know more about
  • Who is he/she?

  • When did you meet him/her?

  • Why do you want to know more about him/her?

  • And explain how you feel about him/her

A few months ago, I travelled to London on a holiday from Canada. I had been to Canada to meet a friend and then travelled to London. My flight was scheduled to depart at midnight, and I was exhausted because of constant travel and going out with my friends. To my misery, my flight was delayed due to bad weather conditions and I had to wait for another four hours at the airport. I was greeted by a fellow passenger who was also waiting for the same flight, named Jane who turned out to be an interesting person.

We started complaining about our luck and flight schedules and gradually our small talk turned out to be an engrossing conversation because we had many of our interests and thoughts in common. She was a small business owner who was on her way to a potential investment from a few clients in London. I was also planning to establish my business in more cities at the time. We talked about how we started our businesses and managed to establish a successful career despite many challenges.

It has been only 1 year since I started my business while she seemed much more experienced than me. I was in awe with the way she conducted herself and she was an intelligent lady. I would have loved to meet her again while I was visiting London if I had the chance, but given my busy schedule, I could not. But we did exchange numbers before parting ways and promised to meet once we are able to.

I have met many people in my life, but Jane was someone who was very fascinating as we seemed to have similar tastes and passion towards work. I am glad I met her and look forward to meeting her again soon to have many more such conversations and get to know her more.
