Every new year, I make some resolutions while making sure I set them to be realistic and give myself plenty of time to achieve them. To be honest, some of my resolutions have been a flop show over the years; but this time I made only three commitments which are doable. I want to talk about the most important of the three, which is maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Ever since work from home began, I have been glued to my laptop and mobile all day. I have been doing little to no exercise while eating whatever I wanted, which has taken a toll on my health. I have gained weight significantly, which has other health implications. My doctor suggested me to maintain a healthy weight and to have a balanced diet while not missing my favourite things. 

So, this year I decided to go for a walk or jog at least four times a week and keep tabs on the junk food I eat so as to keep it to a minimum. So far, I have been able to keep up with my health plans and diet. Further, I started to include more greens in my meals and have fruits regularly. 

Although I have been lazy for more than a year, I am positive I will complete this and continue to follow it. It has been a month since I started it and I am happy to see changes in my energy levels. I am very happy I made this resolution and will most assuredly see it to its completion.

1. What are the most common resolutions in your country?

In India, people usually focus on adopting a new hobby or learning a new skill every year. For instance, last year, I resolved to learn cooking as I was never good at it, and I am proud to say that I can now live by cooking for myself.

2. How difficult would it be for you to save money this year?

It has been a good last year for me in terms of saving money as I got a promotion at work which increased my salary considerably. This year, I am planning to cut down on my spends which are not really necessary and save more so I can invest it later.

3. How difficult would it be for you to get fit this year?

I have already started exercising almost daily and prepared a diet chart that suits my needs; so I think it is going to be a healthy year for me. Although I am currently following a strict diet, once I reach my desired fitness level, I will give myself treat days occasionally.

4. What do you think this year will be like for you?

I believe that this year is going to be great for me. I have taken up some new responsibilities at work where I could perform better while learning something new and I have made a fitness regime that keeps me energized. I think I will see some positive results.
