I own a car and prefer travelling by it because it is time saving and convenient. However, when I need to travel for long hours, I lean towards public transportation. Owing to that very reason, I chose to travel by train with my family recently.
We went to Delhi on a vacation last month as our office holidays synced up. We did think about other places we could visit but decided Delhi would be the best option at this time of the year. Furthermore, my sister wanted to visit the Taj Mahal since a long time and she was insistent on going there. Thus, to oblige her wishes, we decided to go see India’s most beautiful monument. Besides, it is a renowned tourist attraction where people come from across the world. So, we booked tickets on the official railway website a week prior to our journey. On the day of our travel, we reached the railway station thirty minutes before the departure time of our train just to ensure we didn’t miss the train.
The journey was refreshing as we played some games and saw some stunning sights along the way. My sisters and I fought for a window side seat but eventually decided to take turns each hour. It was wintertime, so watching sunset through the foggy winds while sitting on an express train was spectacular. Furthermore, we travelled locally in and around Delhi after we visited the Taj Mahal and it was a fantastic journey. I thoroughly enjoyed the train journey as well as the rest of the trip. I look forward to travelling again soon.
