Describe an event you attended in which you didn’t like the music played.
  • What was the event?

  • Where were you?

  • What music was like?

  • And explain why you didn’t like the music?

I listen to music while working out or in my leisure time. I genuinely enjoy all forms and genre of music be it party, pop or rock. However, today I would like to speak about an event which I attended last year in my hometown and was quite an unusual experience for me. It was a retirement party for my uncle. He was retired from the Army and had thrown a party to his kith and kin. The entire event was well organized and everything with respect to the food and the decoration was beautifully coordinated by the organizers.

I was quite enthusiastic about the party as I had just finished my exams and was desperately in need of some fun to relax my nerves. I arrived at the venue before the scheduled time and began helping my uncle with the preparations.

To my utter surprise, the music was not good as my uncle had instructed the DJ to play some classical music for the entire evening. I was wondering how I could approach the DJ and request him to change the music. Since my uncle was managing the show, he told the DJ to play the music as per his taste and he was merely following his orders.

I tried requesting the DJ to change the track, but he refused. Hence, all my efforts to play my favorite music went in vain, and for 5 hours at a stretch, I had to listen to extremely boring music. The songs were from some old classical movies which could easily put anyone to sleep. In spite of the other attractions, the party failed to amuse the people as the youngsters could not dance to the rhythm of the monotonous music.

Although I was feeling extremely bored, I still attended the party because I didn’t want to disappoint my uncle.
