Describe an item of clothing that someone gave you
  • What the clothing was?

  • Who gave it to you?

  • When you got it?

  • And explain why this person gave you the clothing

I have received numerous gifts in the form of birthday presents or for when I have accomplished something significant. Of all the things I have received so far, I love the handmade gown that my aunt gave me, the most. About five years ago, when I was in high school, my aunt Alex used to live next door to us. She was quite amiable, and I spent most of my weekends with her learning cooking and sewing from her.

However, after graduation, I had to move to a different city for college. As a farewell and graduation celebration, my parents arranged a party for me before I left town. Although it was a party for me, I helped my aunt with food preparation as she volunteered to take care of the food section. During the party, she handed me a present wrapped in gift paper. I thought it was a sweet gesture as she was the first one to gift me something that day.

After I unwrapped the gift, I was astonished to see a beautiful peach colored gown laced with pearls and stunning embroidery. I had no idea how to react and I didn’t really want to accept the gift because it looked quite expensive, but she insisted on taking it. Further, I was amazed to learn that she made that gown herself, redoing her old prom dress and giving it an elegant look.

She said that I reminded her of her younger self and spoke about the time she went to college. It brought tears to my eyes as she spoke about her yester years and how she made the gown. I thanked her for it and promised I would revere it all my life. I would pass it down to my niece when she graduates and make it a family tradition.

3. Do you think students need to wear school uniforms?

I believe that students should wear uniforms to school as it teaches that everyone is equal and deserves the same respect. Not only that but it also gives an identity and induce a sense of discipline in students. It teaches students to see everyone equally and appreciate them. Uniforms also act as good identifiers; in case someone enters a school with no uniform, they can easily be identified and questioned.

4. Where do Indian people buy clothes?

Indian people purchase clothes from malls and local stores situated in markets and shopping complexes. Some prefer buying clothes from online shopping websites as it saves them time and cost of travel. Personally, I like going to the mall better than purchasing clothes online because trying on outfits before buying them gives a sense of satisfaction.
